Fundraising Event - Afternoon Tea Through Time

FUNDRAISING EVENT

Join us on Thursday 5 June for an Afternoon Tea Through Time!

While you feast on freshly-made finger sandwiches, delicate cakes and scones with jam and clotted cream, you’ll be helping us raise much-needed funds for a new accessible vehicle for Blists Hill Victorian Town.

This will allow our visitors with mobility issues to explore and fully enjoy all that the museum has to offer, ensuring that everyone can experience the rich history we cherish.

Throughout the afternoon, you’ll also have the opportunity to view original 1800s costumes, including pieces that would have been worn during afternoon tea in Victorian Britain. Our talented Costume Project team have also created beautiful replica outfits, including a variety of hats, all of which will be on display and available for you to try on – perfect for a memorable photo opportunity!

Kyla Hislop, our Interpretation Curator, will be sharing an insightful talk on how Victorians accessorised their outfits with stunning hats and jewellery, some of which will also be on display for you to explore.

There will also be plenty of opportunities to help us raise funds throughout the event. Don’t miss your chance to take part in our exciting raffle, where you could win some fantastic prizes while supporting us.

The accessible vehicle at Blists Hill Victorian Town is just one of many steps we're taking to make sure everyone feels welcome at our museums.

You can find out more about other ways in which we are working to make our museums more accessible here.
