Industrious Women
To mark International Women’s Day, visitors to Blists Hill Victorian Town will be able to learn about the little-known role of women in the industries of the Ironbridge Gorge.
A special free guided tour, led by the town’s Victorian residents, will run for this weekend only and will shed light on women’s role during this period of massive change.
At midday the streets of the town will also be brought to life with a suffragist rally where visitors can join in the fight for votes for women.
People will be able to show their support (or opposition!) to the suffragist movement in a special printing activity. Younger visitors will be able to do a fun activity trail. Additional changes for some activities.
Timings: From 10am until 4pm (rally at midday)
Dates: Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 March
Location: Blists Hill Victorian Town
