Clay Pipe Making Workshop with James Ashwell

Coalport China Museum

Ever wondered how traditional clay pipes were made?

To celebrate Heritage Crafts Week, we're hosting a clay pipe making workshop in our new studio at Coalport China Museum where you can have a go at making clay pipes in a range of styles and shapes.

During this workshop, led by heritage pipe maker James Ashwell, you will have exclusive access to some traditional cast iron pipe moulds as well as some modern 3D printed moulds, many of which are from our collection at Broseley Pipeworks.

Your pipes will be fired and available for collection around two weeks later. If you wish to use your pipes, the tips can be glazed. Postage can be arranged at an additional cost. Please speak to our team on the day.

Date: Saturday 13 September

Location: The Studio, Coalport China Museum

Tickets: £60 per person
