As part of the nationwide Museums at Night Festival of arts, culture, and heritage, we will be holding a free entry 1960s family party from 5.30pm on 20 May at Enginuity.

Children of all ages can play popular board games from the ‘60s such as Twister, Operation and Mousetrap as well as KerPlunk, while entertainment will be provided by the local TADLOP musical theatre group performing popular jukebox hits and favourites from five decades ago. Grownups can also enjoy a glass of sparkling Babycham or Blue Nun wine from the cash bar.

The Fab Lab design and manufacture facility, which includes a 3D printer, will be open for younger visitors to take part in a creative activity for a small charge.

Make sure you come dressed in 60s fashion and enter the costume competition to be in with a chance of winning an Annual Family Passport Ticket for the Museums!

This family friendly evening is also a great opportunity for everyone to experience the giant techno exhibits in Enginuity. Discover how a little ingenuity will empower you to pull a 10-ton locomotive by hand, generate electricity from flowing water, build an earthquake proof tower or challenge the robotic arm to test the speed of your reactions. There's also a play area for smaller children and a shop packed with great science, design and technology inspired toys.

Doors open 5.30pm and the evening will finish around 10pm. Entry is free to this evening event but tickets must be reserved in advance online at https://1960s_party_enginuity.eventbrite.co.uk
